  • Re: Artella Spring 'Zine Swap is happenin' for sure!

Neither winter’s cold, nor lack of brains, nor stinky feet, nor gloom of depression, stays this courageous artist from the swift completion of my appointed commitment to the Spring ‘Zine Swap of Artella. ~~~~~~~~~~ Mary , thank you for pointing out so gently and kindly how to go about publishing my first...

Wow, Pat and Everyone! Isn't this the greatest way to rev up our creativity for spring (at least here in the northern hemisphere)? -- cannot wait to get going on this project. Reading all the posts and seeing the pics from the first zine challenge made my fingers itchy and my head agog with ideas...

  • Zine Swap Thank You!

I really enjoyed the beautiful zines I received in the First Artella Zine Swap! The five that I have are so amazing that I learned a few things as well. I can't wait to show off your work and talents to my family. Thank you to Billizetti for hosting the swap and a huge thanks to all who participated...

Whew! Aimed at Friday's mailing date--and missed it! Project is 98% done! Last little tweaking to do today, and I had planned to drive to Kalamazoo and get spiral binding done. Then into mail tomorrow. BUT the Great Ice Storm hit us last night and today the roads are covered with ice. I'm thinking...

  • More Zines Arrived

I received the third package of zines! They are from Lotus Vele. It's a wonderful zine! In fact, I don't know how I'm going to be able to choose which 5 zines I want to keep. I want to keep one of the first 3 I've received!!! If you haven't finished your zine yet, keep on going. The...

Actually, I think the "homemade" look is much more interesting. I want to make mine have a more artistic look, but I always end up with them looking too planned. I often use cardstock for the cover and back, and then regular printing paper inside. I print mine on a inkjet printer, so I don't...

Please don't anyone be concerned about "16" pages. If you feel you can only handle 12, then just do 12. If you can only do 8, that's fine. We want to have fun with these, especially if this will be your first time creating a zine. Remember, though, that you can design your zine any...

  • Re: Artella Cafe's First Zine Swap

Bill, I really like your 'zine Swap idea! I suspect that others do, too, and hesitate to reply because, like me, they are afraid to make the commitment! A WHOLE 'ZINE? The total thing by me? I know I can do it. I've been IN 'zines, but doing 16 pages does seem rather daunting! Okay. You've...
