Bee Sipping Nectar.jpg
This little fellow must have been very hungry. He just wouldn't get his head out of the flowers. After a gazillon pictures, I got a couple of full body shots. If you look close enough you should be able to see his eyes before he puts his head back into the flower. I didn't realize how many types...

Water Hyacinth with Turbo, Jr.
I took this picture of the Water Hyacinth in my sister's pond because I think it is a fascinating looking plant. Imagine my surprise when I uploaded the pictures and found one of Turbo the Frog's offspring sitting on the plant and sunning himself.

Turbo the Frog
This is Turbo the Frog. My sister found him and put him in her pond and named him after a pet that my nephew lost. Every time my sister would find a frog, she would take it and put it in her pond. Now we have multiple generations of Turbo's living in the pond.

Bumblebee Moth, also known as the Snowberry Clearwing Moth, sipping nectar from my backyard Butterfly Bush
This darling creature is called a Bumblebee Moth, also known as the Snowberry Clearwing Moth, sipping nectar from my backyard Butterfly Bush. I didn't know exactly what he was when I first saw him. I thought maybe a mutant bee. I did a little research and found out that it was actually a Moth.

A Baby Praying Mantis hunting on my Impatiens Plant
A Baby Praying Mantis hunting on my Impatiens Plant. These creatures really fascinate me. Every single time I see a Mantis I talk to it and invariably, no matter what it happens to be doing at the time, it will turn around and look at me. I like to believe he is listening to me.

A Widow Skimmer Dragonfly visiting my backyard.
A Widow Skimmer Dragonfly visiting my backyard. I was ecstatic when I first saw him touchdown - he is just so beautiful. It's my first picture of any kind of Dragonfly. His wings remind me of the most exquisite and delicate lace ever imaginable. When I was a little girl, my Mom used to take us to...
