What's Your Dream Vacation? Keepsake Entries Creativity Contest #26 by chameleon

My hubby and I talk about this alot. What's our dream vacation? Where would we go if money was no object? I have more than one place I would love to travel to. The first would be Spain. I would love to travel throughout the entire county. I would take weeks, months, whatever it takes to see it all! There is so much history, charm and fresh air about Spain, I almost melt wanting to be there. Other choices would be Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, England...

I guess a dream vacation depends on a lot of things. Yes, being in a wonderful and unique hotel is something special, but you have to be looking for that type of vacation. You'll see from the fantastic entries to this art contest that each person's ideal "Dream Vacation" differs considerably. We use quotes to stimulate thinking, inspire, and as a positive boost. When I read a good quote, I often say, "Yeah, that's exactly how I feel", or "Wow, that quote is perfect!" Some people like to collect quotes from various artists that has special meaning to them; often incorporating it in their artwork as the talented group of artists did in Creativity Contest #24. A few of the works carry quotes that the artists invented themselves such as Joanne Ross, "The Path":

"May you experience your path in the Spiritual as well as the physical.
And may your Journey take you to the Path of Enlightenment."

How about Barbara Miller's quote, "Call your mother/You know she worries" , for a humorous twist or Cecilia Swatton's work that carries the message, "Courage arrives one step at a time." Birth! Keepsake Entries Creativity Challenge #22 by chameleon

Bursting with color and charm, these eye-catching works represented a range of ideas on the theme of "Birth". While "The Most Precious Event" by Ann Larsen along with a digital work by Barb Starrenburg, "Blessings", suggested the birth of a baby, Terri's artwork, "Birth of a New Day" depicted the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal. Barbara's poem "Heart in Flight" beautifully captures the exquisite happiness upon the birth of a healthy grandchild. A thought-provoking artwork by Tara entitled "Life Cycle" features a quote by a major political and spiritual leader, Mahatma Gandhi, that illustrates his idea of birth and death.

For some of us, paradise is a portrait of tranquility, with a spectacular combination of soft white sand, calm and clear water, and a laid-back atmosphere. Others related to the idea of paradise in religion, a place of exceptional happiness and delight. Window Panes - Keepsake Entries Creativity Challenge #17 by chameleon

I'm on a roll . . . . all the Window entries in a window! Windows provide a glimpse out into another world or a glimpse in. They separate with fragility one world from another. The word Window originates from the Old Norse vindauga, from vindr "wind" and auga "eye" which is interesting as the English proverb or saying, "The Eyes are the Window to the Soul" seems to relate to that. In fact, Barbara Miller (Aunt Bobby) used this very phrase in her art piece, "Windows of the Soul".
