OK. Here's the story. When I took his picture, I thought he was just one of the usual suspects. Just another Red Breasted Nuthatch. Then, after I uploaded his picture I just kept thinking "what's wrong with this picture". He just didn't look right. I thought maybe I would have to alter the color in Photoshop because you couldn't see very much of the rust color on the sides of his underbelly. I was just about to do that when a light bulb went off in my head. HELLO! There is NO red. It's a White Breasted Nuthatch. Of course, I went to my trusty little field guide to check just in case I needed to go get a bucket of red paint. Nope, he's not supposed to have any red. Just white on the underbelly.

Oh oh.  I think I just erased my comment.  Doh!

This is a great shot of a Nuthatch.  They are such interesting birds.  My sister and I use to sell our art in a boutique, and we named our section of the store "The Nuthatch."  I'm going to have to tell her about your photo.
