Hi Everyone!
I just couldn't believe my good fortune on Monday of this week. Early Monday morning, I went out on the patio to check my Prickly Pear Cactus to see whether it had flowers yet. I was disappointed to find only flower buds again this morning. They have been buds for a few weeks now, getting plumper and bigger each day. I wait patiently every year to see these luscious flowers because they bloom only once a year and then only briefly. Late in the afternoon, I went back out onto the patio to shoot (with my camera) a Cardinal and a Squirrel that were hanging around the yard. As often happens, they were way to quick for me. Disappointed, I started to survey the yard for critters to photograph and out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of yellow. I couldn't believe my eyes. In the course of about eight hours, my Prickly Pear Cactus had decided to honor me with it's beautiful delicate yellow flowers. I can hardly contain my excitement and I want to share a couple of pictures with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Hugs, Julie
