This is a photograph that I took of a female Cardinal nibbling on seeds in my front yard. I took this photo last week. As usual, I am always on the quest for a better photograph. I've taken photos of female Cardinals before, I even took quite a few on the day I snapped this one. If you look at any one of these photographs, you would say, yes, that looks like a female Cardinal. But when I looked at this particular photo, my first thought is OMG, that is really what God had in mind when he created the female Cardinal. She is absolutely beautiful.  She must have turned toward the camera, and paused precisely when the shutter released. It's as if God was right there with his paint brush making magnificent strokes to show her beauty.  In case you don't already know, the Cardinal is my Mom's favorite bird. I call her Mamma Cardinal, Mommie, or Mommasita, and, of course, you all know who Poppi is.  I hope you like her as much as I do.

                              Hugs,   Julie

You really put the "wow" factor into this photograph, Julie.  Mommasita is resplendent draped in brilliant red feathers and beak.  Thank you so much for sharing your photography skills with all of us.
