When I saw the Silhouette Woman, she looked sad and alone which led to the words of a poem and the artwork as a whole. The digital image was completed in Adobe Photoshop with fourteen layers.       - chameleon

Thanks so much, Billizetti!  You know what the best part of it is?  I became so engrossed in it that I lost all sense of time and worry, and just had a great time!

Hi Chameleon!

When I look at this collage, I can totally relate to that feeling of sadness and loneliness. It is a very touching portrait that I think most people can relate to at some level. I am also really impressed with the fourteen layers. I am trying to learn Photoshop and I am really struggling. I haven't even been able to put two layers together yet. I bought the book "Photoshop CS 3: Classroom In a Book", but I don't think I have been spending enough blocks of time to get the continuity I need to scale the learning curve.

Chameleon, Awesome Job! Everything about it is attractive, I especially like the gradient background, nice element. I haven't done this challenge yet, I wanted to see what others did.

Julie, Focus on one layer at a time.

layer 1: background paper, then lock it

make a new layer, do something, then lock it

make a new layer, do something, then lock it, etc., etc.

By locking it as you work, everything will stay in place and not move, but if all of the sudden you want to reposition something, just go and tap on that layer to activate it, click the unlock, and do what you need to do, then lock it again.  Just my tip! Good Luck, my best advice is to just play and experiment will each of the features.   Annette (annamarie)
