    July's Creative Challenge!

Okay everyone, here's your challenge should you choose to accept it.  We will be combining the indoors with the outdoors!  You can make something indoors that you can place outdoors! You can alter a simple garden rock, make a stepping stone for a garden, an intricate garden spike, let you imagination run wild.  When you've completed the challenge, please upload your picture in the gallery. (I'll have to see if I can have a special file created, I'll get back to you...)  Everyone who wants to play, please reply to this post. There is no pressure here, just a fun little challenge to help motivate everyone and for you to PLAY!!!!

    Re: July's Creative Challenge!

I wanted this to be pretty relaxed, so I didn't really impose a deadline.  I think if we can do a small piece of art by the end of the month, then that's good.  Does anyone else need a deadline? I know some people work better with deadlines, anyone want me to send them a deadline?

I actually planted some little plants  in a small bed outside the front door of my apartment.  And I bought a couple of potted plants for out there, too. So, it would be cool to have some art out there!  I'll play!

It's easy peasy everyone, just create one little thing to put outside in a garden or even a potted plant!  No pressure, just play.  Thanks to everyone who is joining in.

I have gathered the pieces of my thing I'm making.  It's sort of an assemblage.  I'm a bit stuck on how to attach the pieces together, but i'm working on it.

What's everyone else creating for your garden?

    Re: July's Creative Challenge!

About 15 years ago, I went through a "running" stage.  I won several medals.  I have wanted to make a wind chime from them for a long time.  This seemed like a good time to do it.  I have them tied on a brass ring with different lengths of thread, but I haven't had time to finish the wind chime.  Hope to get it done soon.

    Re: July's Creative Challenge!

OK, all -- here's my wind chime!  As I said, the medals are ones I won racing in the years 1991-1993.  The ribbons from the small brass ring to the large brass ring are samples of some of the ribbons the medals were on when they were hung around my neck at the end of the race.  My daughter Robin helped me put this together.  We used "Tiger Tail" wire/cord to tie the medals to the large ring and to tie the small ring to the hanging ring. We glued each knot in place, so that they would not shift.  I am pleased with the look of the wind chime, and it makes a very nice, very satisfactory "music" in the wind.

I'm making a small scotch tape sculpture--it's a goddess figure that will attach to a stick-anchor so the goddess can watch over the toad house in my rock garden...

Sure takes a LOT of scotch tape!

Bobby, this is both elegant -- and eloquent!  It is art, and emotion -- pride in you -- and how wonderful that your daughter and you worked together on it!  I love it.

Anyone else doing the challenge?? I'd love to see even a small thing. I'm running short on time myself and it's been such a hectic month. Everyone game to try another small thing next month?
