Drawing Challenge #12 - Take a Walk in My Shoes!

Shoes, glorious shoes!!! Shoes come in so many different shapes and sizes to fit a range of styles, functions, personality types if you stop and think about it.  Even the abandoned shoe might find itself some new life purpose see Billizetti’s Digital Altered Book!  So kick off your own shoes, pull out your favorite pen, pencils, drawing pad and get started!

    Hi Everyone!

Ask and you shall receive!  I really thought it was time to get some shoes going in here so this is my contribution.

I think this is a new line of shoes that was introduced into the market by Lori's Frog Prince's cousin.  I hear the cousin is a real Toad.  Can you see the resemblance?

I was playing with a new feature I just found in PS, so you'll have to excuse the green spots.  I wanted to post it tonight and didn't have time to clean it up.

I can't wait to see the rest of the fashion line!

    Hugs,  Julie

    Hi Chameleon!

I am so glad you like my heels!  After all, you were my inspiration and I'm so glad they made you laugh!

I drew these baby shoes in a drawing class last year with charcoal.  I saw the "walk in your shoes" challenge and thought these little guys were perfect for it.

Terri, how striking!  I like the composition -- the white space balances beautifully the deeper, darker places. Very interesting!  cb

Terri, your baby shoes are a perfect addition and I love the detail and shading!

Constance, I really wish I could take all of the credit for the "Open Toad" shoes.  I have a Muse that whisperes in my ear and some times I just can't resist.  I am so glad that you had a good giggle.  I think I can still hear Chameleon laughing!

Julie!!!!  I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this... it's hysterically funny!  Open TOAD how ever did you dream that up?  Wow!  I have to tell you, if it weren't for my bad ankle ( I tore ligaments in my left ankle -- tryin to dribble the basketball down two flights of stairs in the boy's dorm in college -- don't ask...) and I can't trust myself to be safe walking around in high heels (or toads) any more for that matter.   It's that one frog prince for me or nothing (I've kind of given up hope on finding him too lately).  I still LOVE shoes though, so I'll be working on my pile soon!  I love flip-flops and being a native So Cali girl I wear them all year round and own way too many pairs of them...  hmm.  We'll see.

What kind of shoes do frogs wear?

    Open toad!

You people rock!  The baby shoes are darling, and the open toad shoes hysterical.  I've been in my depression mode, and haven't had the guts to "draw" anything lately, but I'll get in the groove again soon.  Tongue Tied

    Hi Bill!

I'm sorry to hear that you're under the weather.  I really miss your inspiring drawings.  And, when you don't come out to play, there is a substantial void that is actually palpable.  I miss you and hope you're feeling better soon (like yesterday!).

Hello Everyone in Drawing Challenge Land!  As promised I'm back with my pile of shoes...  As I said I love flip-flops and being a native Southern California girl I wear them all year round and own way too many pairs of them.  In fact, what you see here is not the entire collection. Embarrassed  Since quitting the corporate world to work from my home office/studio, I don't even own a pair of pumps anymore (well, I could blame that on my "bad ankle from college") but, nah, I just love flip-flops!!  And here they are:

Great job!! I could totally see this selling as a poster in one of our beachfront tourist shops.  I love your colors, shading, and great attention to detail!  Very fun and cute.

Walk the walk and flip the flop, Lori!  Clever and carefree, this "collection" of foot apparel is all fun.  Your attention to detail is so accurate, it could be a photo down to the threading detail on the insoles.   Nice work, Lori.
