Spring 'Zine Swap...almost at the wrap-up!

     Hi, you all!

Sorry to report that I've had (and still have) the flu. It really has me slowed down! But didn't that happen to Billizetti at the tag end of the last 'zine swap? I hope he didn't establish a tradition--I think that little thing should stop with this Swap!

As you all know, I have a post office box, and I have not been to gather the mail for almost two weeks--so I am sure there are already some wonderful packages there. Today, hopefully...and I'll report back to you.

Meanwhile, I am sorta slow at getting my own 'zines together--but it's well underway!

    Back later,

    Big SmilePat

Chris, I hope your flu is long gone by now!

You're right, Pat.  I had a bad virus toward the end of the first swap.  Now that you got sick for this one, no one will want to volunteer to host the next swap. Although, flu season should be about over!

I haven't mailed my zines out yet.  It sounds like that may be a good thing, though, so you won't have an overload in your mailbox.  I've had a terrible time with my printer.  I finally got them all printed Sunday evening, however, and now I have to put them together.  I'm thinking you said you would like them by April 15 th., right?

The sun is shining today in Michigan, so there is hope spring is actually here.  Yay!

Re: Spring 'Zine Swap...almost at the wrap-up!

This seemed like the most current thread. I am sorry but I was unable to complete my zine for this swap, at the time I signed up for it

I had given my two week notice to leave work and go full time as an artist.  Life did not work out that way. Due to some personal problems in the family I worked for, I agreed to stay untill they could find someone to replace me. The long and short is that my plan went backwards and I ended up working even more hours.  I have been scrambling to complete the things I commited to in the change over, but this just fell by the wayside. I am sorry.

I hope to get this time issue resolved soon, but at the current time, I have no time.

    Hi Rennata and zinesters!

While I'm not in the zine group (maybe next time), I still like to check what's happening with the group.  Sounds like everyone has been very busy balancing life and art - which is the norm for us artists, isn't it?!  Rennata, after reading your message I had to reply and let you know to not ever feel guilty or apologize for being busy with life that you can't participate in an art project.  All the forums, contests, and other activities will be here for you to get your hands into when the time is right.  In the meantime, I wish you much success with the changes that are happening right now and we're here for you!

Re: Spring 'Zine Swap...almost at the wrap-up!

I'm reporting in, everyone...late. That flu must be THE worst, most debilitating in my life, and I'd had the flu shot. Anyway, this week it came back and I was flat for three more days. It seems to have activated the recurring shingles and my eyes have been affected.

But it's better. Now I can finish up the Swap. I have not even opened the packages. Tomorrow. I should get those babies into the mail in a few days. I am so sorry for the delay, but I could not help it.

Pat, I'm sorry to know you've been suffering so.
Place all of the zines in a nice little row.
As you ooh and you ahh, be sure not to sneeze
The gifts are awaiting and are most sure to please!

Repeating post re Good News from Pat!

Posted this update on the original thread for Spring '08 swap a couple of days back:

Hi, Gang!  Good news from Pat.

First, let me say it's only early May still, so I'm not bothered by the delay at all, as we did expect it.

I just spoke with Pat by phone this aft.  She is getting help from others so she can send out our zine parcels to us by late next week.  Those nasty recurrent illnesses --which no one could have foreseen-- are still hangin' around and keeping her at a frustratingly low ebb.  (I had a lengthy flu myself this spring despite the shot and despite many healthy years; it's a new strain.) Of course the looming task of zine-wrangling has been no help, tho' it would have been fine fun were our Pat entirely well again.

So a bit more patience, all:  the goodies are a-comin'!  They'll be worth their wait in gold to us ... sorry!

If Mother's Day is something you do, have a great one.
