    Michiganders love Artella, too.

I live just outside Ann Arbor, the city that hosts one of the largest art fairs in the U. S.  Anyone else hail from Michgian, too?

St. Joseph County, Bill! Straight west of you--about an hour's drive (driving fast)! Who else is here? Holly? I noticed that she said she wasn't too far from you.

Maybe we can have a Michigan get-together...

    Love,

    Pat

Ironwood is in the U. P., right?  I had friends that lived in Dollar Bay.  The U. P. is so beautiful!  It's a totally different world from down here near Ann Arbor.  I had my first sauna and my first beer in the U. P. when I was 19 years old.  Holy cow!  That was 37 years ago.

I'm right across the river from Detroit, MI. I'm Canadian but deal with our neighbours to the north on a daily basis (yes, MI is North of where I live, lol.)

My general formula for my students is "Follow your bliss." Find where it is, and don't be afraid to follow it.

    Re: Michiganders love Artella, too.

    Hello, All.

I currently live in Hartland, MI (25 minutes north of Ann Arbor) but grew up in Charlevoix (Northen Mich.). Are there any teachers among us Michiganders (I am) or simply creative souls?

    Cheryl

"To belive in a child is to believe in the future. Through their aspirations they will save the world. With their combined knowledge the turbulent seas of hate and injustice will be calmed. They will champion the causes of life's underdogs, forging a society without class discrimination. They will supply humanity with music and beauty as it has never known. They will endure. Towards these ends I pledge my life's work. I will supply the children with tools and knowledge to overcome the obstacles. I will pass on the wisdom of my years and temper it with patience. I shall impact in each child the desire to fulfill his or her dream. I shall teach." ~ Henry James

A big "Welcome" and CyberHugs for Holly and Cheryl!

This is terrific! I'm in Three Rivers so I'm within driving distance (a long drive) of both of you.

I'm retired, but I have taught Conflict Resolution/Anger Management in the probation center here, and also teach sumi-e painting, as well as a summer course in messy art for adults. Does that count, Cheryl? Or did you mean in the school system?

So thrilled to see Michiganders checking in here!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!  Yes, Ironwood is in the U.P....you couldn't be more accurate when you say that it is a whole different world!  It's a whole different world from everywhere!!!  Very laid-back, slow..and kind of dead.  I grew up here, and moved away when I was 19,  I've lived in Pittsburgh...Orlando...and various parts of Minnesota, so coming back here was really quite a culture shock!  Can't wait to get to know all of you!!!

    Create a great day!!!

    Hi Bill and fellow Michiganders!!

I live in the U.P. - In in a little "town" of Wilson.  LOL  One of those places that if you blink while driving on the highway - you would miss us!  I too, was raised in here, moved away for 20 years - then back "home"!

I am thrilled to be getting started in Artella!

    Hugs
