To tell you the truth, I did the background several years ago for another project, and did not use it at that time. I made it in an earlier version of the Microsoft Digital Editor, and it had a "swirl" choice that you could use on backgrounds. So I just made some stripes, used the swirl, reduced that way down and saved it. Then I did it again, and reduced it down so that the first swirl fit in the middle. Then I did it one more time.
I tried to figure out how to do it with my current (latest) version of Digital Editor, and could not, so I just went back and swiped the old background. Hardly fair, huh?
