Would you like to work for Artella?

We're once again looking for barterers who would like to work with us. All the great people currently in paid employ with Artella got started as barterers, and we only hire from within the Artella community, so if employment with Artella is something you'd like in the long run, or even if you are only interested in helping out part-time now, in exchange for all the nifty Artella goods you like, here's what we are generally looking for. If you possess the following skills, either in combination or you have great ability in even one of them, then that probably means you we really, really need you! :-)

Strong Office and Organization Skills, Database Entering, Advertising, Sales, Online Research, Web Site Troubleshooting, General Computer Programming, Transcribing Audio to Text, and Strong Computer Proficiency in major programs like MS Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, etc.

Well, hopefully that gives you a brief idea of the few things we could use your help with :-). In addition to your wonderful skills, you'd probably fit right in if you have: a fun and artsy personality, real gratitude for just being alive, the desire to inspire others and make a really positive change in the world, a sincere love of all Artella is and can be, and the desire to work with a truly amazing team of caring, creative and passionate people who feel the same way. You can get an application to fill out by clicking here to send us an eMail.  (The email address is: workapp at artellaland.com)

Hello, my dear Aunt Bobby ---

Just happened to see this old post of yours while I was looking for something else.  Confidentially, I will tell you that it has been a tough pill for my ego to swallow that I have applied at Artella twice now and not even received an acknowledgement of my application.  The first time was approximately a year ago, about a month after I had discovered Artella, and the second time was approximately a month ago today, at the encouragement of Constance.  I don't know why it would be that I do not even receive an acknowledgement or thanks for taking the time to fill out an application.  It seems very un-Artella-like, and so I am sure there must be some valid reason, such as my application is somehow not formatted correctly, or attached correctly.  Do you have any inkling at all?

     Respectfully,

    soozwillamuse

Hi Aunt Bobby, as long as you are checking, I also applied and have not heard back either way. I know the instructions said it could take several weeks, so I am just adding my own friendly reminder? Thanks, if you are not the correct person, please let me know who to check in with. Thanks!

Re: Would you like to work for Artella?

Hi, Sooz and AnnaMarie (and, by extension, any others included in this group)

I believe that all of you that have applied for work with Artella in the last year or so have gotten caught in what might be called "The Disturbance In The Force Caused By Kai's Arrival (both before and after his actual birth)".  As things more or less proceeded apace as usual -- with everybody else sort of hanging in there and doing their thing (including continuing to advertise for people to work for Artella), Tony and Marney sort of got tied down with expecting Kai and then with taking care of Kai. And, since Tony and Marney are the only ones who have the task of responding to applicants, that just sort of hasn't been done. And, actually, I don't think anyone really realized it was (or wasn't -- in this case) being done.

Here is a quote from Tony himself:  "Like a number of things that slowed down before and after baby Kai's arrival, Marney and I are just getting caught up and feel bad that we haven’t been able to even contact applicants, and bring in new staff, like we have really wanted to.  But that should be changing in the next week or so, along with the introduction of a lot of other neat things we’ve been working on now that things are just beginning to resume a bit more normal schedule."

So, let's give the new parents the benefit of the doubt, and know that their lack of response has not been a reflection on ANYONE's personality or ability or ego, or whatever. We the present staff are certainly hoping that MANY people will be hired to help us -- we need you!

I hope this helps explain what's going on, Sooz and AnnaMarie --

Many hugs, much reassurance, and lots of love from Aunt Bobby!

Re: Would you like to work for Artella?

No problem, I just joined in when Sooz questioned her request so she knew it wasn't just her or personal. I had also submitted, but they did say it could take several weeks. Sorry if I added any pressure, I certainly didn't mean it. I just figured I'd join in, in case mine got lost or something in computer heaven and I needed to resubmit, ha, ha!

    Thanks for responding!!!
