I've had this ArtellaVision direction on my mind today. Just went back to the yahoo board and copied the original mission statement:
"An inspiring community of individuals who support one another in
leading creative lives. Sponsored by Artella, a magazine and support
network for writers, artists, and creative spirits.
www.ArtellaWordsAndArt.com.
Our vision is of a supportive community where members can express their
views and beliefs in a safe and non-judgmental forum without fear of
negative comments, or reprisals. Creative thinking breeds diversity and
we encourage active discussion and the expression of opinions with
mutual respect, in the spirit of learning about one another...."
Well, we can cross out that "sponsored by" line, since we're now located here.
How do we differentiate ArtellaVision from the rest of the Forum?
I picture it as rather cozy and homey, maybe with the freedom to post more personal ideas...as I did with the Creative Crones and Where We Live threads, which I would probably not do under headings that were more art/technique-specific.
I like your Swap idea, Kim!
Think about how we can convey the INCLUSIVENESS of AV--it's for anyone who wants to post there.
Another thing we might do as an AV group-- study of a book or e-book (or e-course). If several are interested. I've done that with another on-line group (A.R.T. ) and we all worked through Gloria Page's book on stamp carving. A terrific experience. Of course, that's something that would fit any of the general Forum boards....
