NEW ATC Swaps -- Back to Back Summer Swaps

Dear ATC Swappers:

I told Judy Bleu-Green (who was hosting the first two ATC swaps until she had a bad automobile accident) that I would host the next back-to-back set of ATC Swaps for her, if she would give me the themes. This is what her eMail to me said:

Here are ideas for the next two ATC swaps:

(1) Favorite Shakespeare Play -- Will you opt for the adventurous who-done-it play or perhaps a more playful romp in the midsummer? Demonstrate your favorite Shakesperean lines on 5 ATCs to be exchanged for 4 ATCs from your fellow artists. Happy play-picking, and most of all HAVE FUN.

(2) Secret Door! What does your secret door lead to? A favorite destination. . . a state of mind . . . or a past life you wish to have lived? It is your door, so you pick. Only criteria is your ATCs must include a door of some sort. Once again 5 ATCs will be exchanged for 4 ATCs from other participating artists. Good hunting and most of all HAVE FUN.

So, I will be hosting these two Summer Swaps. Here is how it works: Each participant is expected to create 5 ATCs for a swap. Each participant will then receive 4 ATCs in return. Judy gets to keep the extra one (lucky Judy) for hosting the swap. ATCs are mini works of art that must be 2 1/2"w x 3 1/2"h card. ATCs are always traded -- never, ever sold. The hostess sets the theme and mini masterpieces are created with the theme in mind.

"Favorite Shakespeare Play" -- Click here to send me an eMail telling me that you want to join this ATC swap. Send it by JUNE 1st to sign up. I will then give you my home address for mailing your ATCs. The deadline for mailing in your ATCs for this swap is JUNE 23. Please enclose a SASE when you submit your ATCs. Usually 2 first class stamps is enough for postage if you are using a regular envelope. I will then send 4 ATCs to you as soon as I have received the ATCs from everyone that signed up.

"Secret Door" -- Click here to send me an eMail telling me that you want to join this ATC swap. Sign up deadline is JUNE 24. The deadline for mailing in your 5 ATCs is JULY 15. I will send 4 ATCs to you as soon as I have received the ATCs from everyone that signed up.

Any q's please ask. So, let us have some great fun! Let's spread the word and have LOTS of participants.

Judy is going to try to be ready to host the next set, herself. Let's all keep supporting her and encouraging her and praying for her!

Hey, EVERYBODY!

The Shakespeare ATCs have all been distributed and mailed out. Judy got my favorite of each group (I hope they'll be your favorites, too, Judy). Every one of the ATCs was a wonderful little piece of art.

OK, all -- the ATCs from the Secret Door Swap are all in! I have scanned them all in, and posted them in the special ATC Swap Gallery. They are in the "Secret Door" Album, and you can see them at this link: http://artellacafe.com/photos/atcs_from_the_artella_atc_swaps/category5511.aspx

Ten people in all sent in cards for this swap, and they were all just incredible! I will be doing the swaps tomorrow, and should get them in the mail before the weekend.

Oh WOWWEEEE...these ATCs for the Secret Door swap are GORGEOUS! Thank you so much, I love them! (I feel slightly foolish as mine don't even begin to compare...).

I have some miniature easels that these will be perfect for. No more hiding behind those secret doors!

Thanks too all the Secret Door ATC swappers. I just received a notecard filled with ATCs and all I can say is "Kudos to all." You all have done a magnificent job. The artistry, the creativity, the imaginative use of different materials. And, of course, they were all different! I don't often gush but your ATCs warrant that and more, much, much more. I have seen scads of ATCs and yours are up there with the masters. Yes Now I am positively glowing with anticipation over the next two ATC swaps: "H" is for and "I Dream." I can hardly wait! Thanks!

I couldn't forget to thank the most important person responsible for these swaps, Aunt Bobby! Kudos to you, dear Aunt Bobby. For without you there would have been no ooing and ahhhing over any ATC. I am sure EVERYONE appreciates your efforts and has told you so, either here or privately. You are the best!
