    Hi everyone!

Who doesn't enjoy rummaging through old photographs and other neat 'stuff' whether it's in your treasure-filled grandma's attic, a thrift store, or local garage sale?  Your inspiration, some with personal histories included, and styles were diverse and challenged us to take a fresh look at the creativity offered by our Artella artists.  Each and every one was a pleasant surprise.  Some made me think while others made me smile.  Thanks, artists, for sharing your creative energies with this studio kit, "Grandma's Attic."

    Happy Sunday to you all!

I can't begin to express how much fun I had creating my entry for this "Grandma's Attic" contest! And to have been voted first place winner was a complete shock and wonderful surprise! As a beginning digital artist who is still learning her way around Photoshop Elements, I really appreciate the encouragement I've received from entering the Studio Kit Contests the past 2 months. And I've been able to share some of my very favorite things in my creations -- scans of my Victorian cabinet cards and ephemera! Thank you all for your kind reception of my work! My inner artist child (who still thinks her art doesn't "measure up") has received a great boost from the thoughtful consideration so abundant here at Artella!

    Hi Alexandra!

Good to hear from you and to let you know that your work was absolutely deserving of first place and hope you'll enter lots, lots more, Alexandra.  Never feel that your work doesn't 'measure up'.  We're all in the same heaving, rocking artistic 'boat';  feeling like our work doesn't measure up to the next artist. That's the way of the artist, unfortunately.  As a group, we're all creating a unique and diverse range of artworks and I'm sure you'll find more than one thing to learn, challenge, and share with the members.  I know I certainly have in the short time I've been here.

Congratulations to everyone who takes the time out of their busy schedules to participate. Everyone has their own unique style and that's what makes artella great, along with the fact that we can appreciate, rejoice  and learn from each others styles as well.  Thank you to all who voted me.
