Re: ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS in Creativity Contest #20 - Digital Altered Books!

I cannot tell you how excited I was by everything that you guys did for this contest!  The voting for this contest was the closest EVER, and also had the most even-distributed voting patterns we have ever had, which just shows how torn all the voters were, in trying to pick just one!

Cheryl - "Butterfly Mania" made me just giggle with glee, and I can't wait for the sequel that you promise at the end! :-)

Barb - Your solution to "Alice for Short" was SO clever...so witty and soooo artfully done!

Isabella - You created the most unique scrapbook of family photos I've ever seen.  I love it!

Carolyn - the beauty and majesty of "Living in the Rising Sun" is so powerful - every page is a stunning piece of artwork in and of itself!

Diane - I loved seeing Shakespeare's heroine's celebrated in this way.  SUCH an original way to build on the existing theme of the book. And the pages are gorgeous (they really look like scans of 3D artwork, not digital!)

Sylvia - Every page in your book is so fun - and so obviously inspired by the original text.  This book is a just a digital party!

Julie -The way you combined text, fun artsy elements, backgrounds and still preserved the original text is just genius!   Beautiful!

Bobby - This theme is so powerful and so moving and the pages you made are beautiful.  Your book is filled with purpose and elevates the entire art form.

Bill - Oh, the pioneer of creating DABs...I love EVERY book you've ever done, but this one is just so unique.  I had no idea what anyone would ever do with the German song book but you turned it upside down and made it the canvas of a pop culture celebration.   Awesome!

Tara - I loved how you incorporated the existing words on the page and how you showcased your amazing entries in the Artella contests.  A totally innovative approach - I loved it!

EVERYONE - thank you for throwing yourselves into this activity and doing Digital Altered Books (and me!) sooooo proud! Big Smile

Congratulations to Cheryl, Barb, and Isabella! I'm not at all surprised that the votes were so close on this one. As I stated earlier, EACH ONE is a winner, a gem, an amazing display of talents. I am so proud of everyone who is working with the DABs!

Wanted to let everyone know we've created a special Gallery of Digital Altered Books, here:

    http://artellacafe.com/photos/digital_altered_book_gallery/default.aspx

It not only includes the contest entries, but some of the other DABs that have been created.  Let's keep adding to the Gallery!  Can't wait to see your next Digital Altered Book!  Yes

    Hi Marney!

I hope this post finds you and baby feeling well. This was a wonderful idea (no surprise!). One special place where we can go and flip through all of the beautiful and creative masterpieces everyone has created. I will most definitely be a frequent visitor. I also hope to add a few of my own to the gallery in the future. Thank you for yet another wonderful place to visit!

          Hugs,   Julie

Re: ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS in Creativity Contest #20 - Digital Altered Books!

So...I'm curious to see if anyone is interested in doing another Digital Altered Book contest later this summer?

We'll be posting some new blank books, soon, so there will be some new selections to pick from --

Would that be fun??  Let me know what you think...
