    Making A Difference To Strangers

Yippee!  I just shipped another two boxes to one of our Soldiers in the Middle East through Operation Paperback. The boxes contained similar items as the last two boxes. Lots of books, magazines, bandanas, toiletries, and lots of toys and lots of yummy snacks and goodies along with a cool St. Paddy's Day Card. I always feel really good once I get those boxes off to the post office. It just gives me a lighter brighter feeling. Kind of like floating on clouds...............WooHoo, boxes Away!

What a wonderful, generous heart you have to be thinking of others in need. Do you have anyone in the service yourself? What is Operation Paperback, is that thru a website?

You are truly a faithful and generous woman, Julie, and your contribution to the soldiers is spectacular, to say the least.  You've even gone the extra mile by packaging creations handmade by yourself!  That's heartful, Julie.  Your stories also encourage us to participate in all different ways to make a difference.  After reading your comments, I wanted to help out domestic violence victims in a small way by putting together packages of needed goods for the local Women's Shelter. I also want to include a handmade journal for the women to record their personal feelings.  Thanks, Julie, for sharing your ongoing uplifting words.Yes

Re: Making A Difference To Strangers

    Hi Annamarie!

I don't really know anyone in the service.  I just thought I would pay a little kindness forward.  I found out about Operation Paperback from an Artella article in the Musepaper in the Daily Giving Section. When I went to their site and found out what was entailed, I decided to give it a whirl. When I have a box ready, I let them know and they send me a list of service member names where I can ship my boxe(s). Someone asked me for some details when I sent my shipment last month so I wrote a description of what's involved and listed the website for Operation paperback as well as another organization that Artella highlighted in the Musepaper. On 02/01/08 I posted a thank you note from one of the service members that I sent a box to and on 02/10/08 I wrote the description. You can check out the details in my last post under Making a difference to strangers on those dates (if you like).

         Hugs,    Julie
