I'll be darned. Never figured that a poem, or any writing of mine for that matter, would appear in an online 'Musepaper' (http://www.artelladailymuse.com/?c=130&a=12329) What a surprise I had today when a poem I wrote about my cat, Maggie, along with a beautiful image of catnip (ooh, it's her favorite) appeared in the paper. Thank you, Constance Bates for the Poem and Garden article, and all Artella staff for the super job you do putting this tremendous paper together. It is on my 'must-do' list every morning along with a cup of hot java and the curtains open to reveal a bright new morning. - chameleon

Chameleon, I'm not surprised that your words and art are in the Daily Muse. I don't think it's the first time for you...congrats and you deserve it! I'm always very proud of those whose art and words are selected for inclusion. It's a real honor. Your poem is so sweet!
I just logged into today's Muse just now and lo and behold, my Blog post on Spring was in there too!
I sense a conspiracy..er, I mean a ...spring theme!
Bring Spring!

Hi Chameleon, I am not surprised at all either. I think you are very talented with your words. Even when I am reading what you say about others work, you really take the time to 'SAY SOMETHING'. You describe how the piece spoke to you, or indepth details about it. Secretly, I have been thinking whenever I read your posts, "wow" that Chameleon has a way with words. I am not a poet or writer so I am jealous, ha, ha, I can only speak from the heart. You definately have a gift with words and describing your feelings. Congratulations!!!!
Hi Mary,
Thanks, Mary ---you are always so sincere and complimentary. You are 100% right when you say it's an honor having your work selected for the Musepaper. I've just finished reading it this morning and am always so enthused with the tidbits of information the paper holds. I especially liked Marney's two-part series of Artemis (see pic below) - an autobiographical assemblage. I think I'll just have to get in the studio today and make my own 'Artemis'!

Your Blog post on Spring in yesterday's paper compelled me to write a comment on it - you should see it there. Bring Spring! Bring Spring!

Hi annamarie,
I feel it's very important to be honest in my artworks and to encourage other artists to feel good about what they're accomplishing by telling them, just as you have done. Your comments are very thoughtful and you do truly 'speak from the heart', annamarie. Thank you so much!
chameleon, I too, am so glad you are published in the Muse and any other place you can find. Today is your day! BTW, I have yet to tell you this, but ever since I joined and I read your posts, I can "hear" your voice...here's a haiku for you:
deep, melodic, smooth
chameleon's voice I hear

Be you - and no one else.
Oh, thank you so very much, copper cat, for your complimentary words and feelings......I am deeply touched. Your Haiku is a wonderful gift and will always be treasured by me.
I just had to have a peek at Spicer and Sprocket (love their names) at your gallery ( http://artellacafe.com/photos/copper_cat_gallery/picture9582.aspx) and they both have such puursanality!! Before I got there, I was going to see a little of your background but your humour captured me with, " Nah...you don't really want to know." That's priceless, Jani'ce, and I had a hearty belly laugh along with you! Now, you can have a laugh with me when I tell you that I have a collection of all kinds, colors and sizes of frogs - ceramic, porcelain, stuffed - because I love their big eyes. I noticed your kitty with a frog and had to pass this on to you.
Just wanted to thank you guys for the nice words about The Artella Daily Muse. I love it when we can publish the words, art, thoughts, and visions of the Artella community to inspire the Artella community. That's what it's all about.
And speaking of poetry...just a reminder to you folks that the next Poetic Idol Competition deadline is one week from today. You might want to check it out!
I'm so grateful for all of you!
Oh, chameleon, now that IS priceless and so very funny about your frog collection. My dh loves tree frogs, but we do not have a collection, only this one. I had to have him because when you move him he "croaks", and the cats occasionally paw him to see if he still talks. Mostly, though, when the sun is out and the curtains are open, Spicer loves this purr-ticular spot, under her favorite plant and next to her frog.

To be truthful, I'd rather read the The Artella Daily Muse than the Financial Post, Marney. Totally loved Artemis and the accompanying explanation. Your autobiographical assemblage is unique - one of a kind - just like you! Inspiration abounds in Artella Land.
That is the absolute truth! How many times I've said (and have heard others like me say) that having something positive to read daily fulfills me more than any newspaper. The fact that The Daily Muse incorporates all words and art, and not just some aspects which only seem to be held by a select few, is a blessing for its members. The fact that I have someplace to go daily and talk with other artists, listen to them, see them, and have feedback is wonderful. I fully expect that Artella will expand its presence and its offerings that will draw more and more talented people like the ones I've seen here, and be a refuge from the noisiness of the world around us.
Whew! Got that off of my chest!
Chameleon,
I just have to pipe in here. I have the honor of perusing the Artella Cafe looking for entries for Today's Brew. I love watching the relationships grow between artists that visit the Cafe and I find you everywhere!
You are by far one of the most giving and supportive artists in the Artella Cafe. I see your encouragement posted in comments on blogs, forums and galleries. You create wonderful collages honoring all the entries in many of the creativity contests, demonstrating an unselfish compassion for other artists. You warmly welcome newcomers. And you enthusiastically particpate in artistic challenges with your beautiful art and words. And as I've so often seen, as in this forum post, you are by far one of Artella's biggest cheerleaders.
I just want to say thank you!
~Cheryl
Honestly, Cheryl, I don't think I've felt so supported, praised, encouraged and inspired as I have been today in all my half-century (plus) years! Thanks, everyone, for all that you've given me the short time I've been a member.
Hear, hear, Chameleon! You richly deserve all the praise, encouragement, and love flowing your way. You give us all so much of yourself, so generously, and with such beauty, and nothing could be more inspiring.
Creative, Collaborative, (In)Candescent: Chameleon!

I'd like to chime in on this. I love the Daily Muse and read it every morning without fail now. You know what has become my favorite thing in the morning? The jigsaw puzzle! I never knew I even liked puzzles, but now every morning I set down my tea and race the clock to put it together - and that's after checking out what colors Paulette is wearing!
