    Grunge Haiku

I'm creating a zine for Artellaland's second zine swap that is about "grunge art."  I'm including some "grungy haiku" I wrote just for the zine.  Remember, haiku is 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables.  Here's one of them:

    rotten tomatoes
    slimy green celery stalks
    peanut butter, please!

If anyone wants to share in this grossness, post your own grunge haiku here in this forum, and I'll include it in my zine.  Pizza  I won't be able to afford to give you a printed copy of the zine, but I'll post a pdf version to this forum.

    Have fun!

Both of those are great, Aunt Bobby and CopperCat!  I actually deleted the original one I had posted, because I didn't want to gross anyone out.  I see, though, I didn't have to worry!!!  Embarrassed

Fifteen years of guitar-playin' sounds coming from my son's room has rubbed off on me!

Hey, chameleon, you're one of the few older people (I'm using that term in a relative way since I don't think you are as old as some of us are) that actually knows what the original grunge was.   Cool!   (I guess "cool" should show you how old I am!)

No way can you gross this woman out - I used to work as a respiratory therapist and I've literally seen, felt, and heard it ALL! lol Well, maybe not all, ha ha.

    Re: Grunge Haiku

I believe I'm as old as some are, older than alot are, and younger than dirt ----now, how's that for grunge, Bill?!!

I just finished reading the haiku to my son who replied, "Yeah, cool" trying to be upbeat about it.  So, I guess the word 'Cool' is still cool - good to know, eh?  By what he says, grunge died out a looong time ago, and only lasted four or five years.  Of course, Kurt Cobain was No. Uno when it came to grunge music.

Here's one for your zine Bill, from the "existential" part of me:

    philosopher's grunge

death of the soul my art form

    altar of egos

"Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and the heart of it because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace." ~Frederick Buechner

Boy!  This is some fascinating stuff.  Who would have thought grunge haiku could be so revealing of people's personalities?!  Hmm
