"These Parts They Co-Exist" by Sooz Weissburg
Collage in Art Journal, 8.5"x11"
This piece is deceptive in its simplicity, compared to how it helped me on the morning that I made it. I was having a moment in which I was acknowledging that I couldn't be colorful (artistic and interesting) without having my dark moods as well.

"Rebirth" by Lori Minick
Acrylic on canvas, 24"x30"
One night I had a dream. I saw a woman's face rising from a fiery abyss. Her face was contorted in agony. As I watched in horror I saw that she was rising from my own abdomen. I heard low moans which grew louder and louder until the sound of my own voice screaming woke me up. I sat up in the darkness with the strange realization that something incredible had just happened. My emotions had finally caught up with me. I knew I had to paint this dream so I would remember: "It’s OK to feel again."
