I will not eat, I will not eat

    Any sugary valueless treat --

I'll only eat, I'll only eat

Fruit, grains, nuts, veggies, and lean meat.

I'll read my Bible every day,

I'll meditate, and then I'll pray.

    A Kind (of) Resolution

    This year, letting go

    seems better than holding on:

    waving goodbye to certain sorrows,

    waving hello to certain dawn.

Who knows what new may flow

when what is over is gone?

Constance, again let me thank you.  Writing that put a lump in my throat - of the good kind when you hit upon a truth.  This challenge is a great idea, and I love that you gave us some rhyme structure to help contain and shape this.  Bless you.

Bless YOU, Kate!  Your poem strikes a strong chord in many of us, I'm sure.  If we could tattoo your poem on one side of our brain, and Bobby's on the other... What possibilities!
