Where did I put that shovel?
Heart attack awaits!

In honor of the 9" of snow we are suppose to get today here in Michigan.

Ice melting drip drip

sun blanketed wrapped in clouds

drips freeze - glass cording

by Bo (who actually wishes it would get warm enough to make a bit of ice go drip-drip)
 

INSTINCT

squirrel chittering

shadow crosses snowy field

bird of prey circling

fear freezes squirrel

instinct races into play

hawk swooping searching

carved hole under rock

granite worn by glacial ice

squirrel's safe hide-out 

Bo (who doesn't particularly like squirrels, but who likes what hawks do to squirrels even less)  

white rabbit bounding 

camouflaged in winter cover

word inspiration

Bo (who likes rabbits in winter when they aren't snacking on her garden's greens) 

weatherman's forecast

bitter cold, frostbite warning

huddling cuddling time

Bo (who has been huddling for weeks; oh, and cuddling, too)  

winds are sreaming

windows rattling, wolves howling

wintry sleepless night

Bo (who has been writing haiku since 4 a.m., tired of lying awake in bed) 

BO: I love this one. I trade W. for Seattle in this moment,

bad weather has an effect, poetic effect on me, too.

A Winter Memory Haiku from Sunny Florida and a Winter Snowfall in Wisconsin

Flamingos roosting
midstream turn away from me
photo resistant.

Bo (who is waiting for the plow while digging out of a 16" snow fall as she hears all the horror stories from stranded travelers. Last night Madison's expressway had a 500 car pile-up, blocking all 8 lanes, and stranded motorists waited some 14 hours for rescue. Ugh!)

Long faces,
Cold-tired,
Wanting warmth,
Impatiently waiting.
