    Haiku Challenge -- Topic: Winter

    Traditional format in this challenge:

    3 lines

    5, 7, 5 syllables

Indicate the season without using the word "winter"

You may write a 3-haiku Haiku; each stanza must work with the others, but be able to stand alone, too.

    The wolves are laughing

    Pouncing, playing in the snow,

    Even with no food

    All the evidence

    suggests the deer were waltzing

    all night in the snow.

    ---------------------------------

    Study each hoof-print

in the snow at the wood's edge -

    silent revelry.

    --------------------------------

    Put on your deer-skin,

    whisper the incantation:

    join in joy's cold dance.

    deer-fully,

    KateSinging

    Great challenge, Constance!  Thanks!

Bellos !!!!! beautiful haikus!!!!! thank you, I love haikus, they are soft, precise, short....unique poetry.

     A snowed white heart,

    assemblage from scraps of love.

    It's a good life.

WoW!!! No idea if this poem in English makes any sense...for a perfect haiku.

That is beautiful, Goya!  It makes sense in every sense.

I'm loving all these ways to think about winter.
