    Making Wall Art with Styrofoam

I picked up a copy of the newest issue of Crafts n' Things and it had a pull-out booklet on using styrofoam to make wall art. Since my walls in my new house are pretty bare I decided to give it a try.  You basically just attach artsy paper (you can use scrapbooking paper or decorate it yourself) to 1" styrofoam sheets and pin ribbon around the outside.  I was kind of skeptical, but with all of the great sales this weekend I was able to get everything I needed to make a four piece grouping for about $7.00, so I decided to make a a set for the holidays.  It was really easy and I was very happy with the results.  I do think that if I made some for year-round use, I would make more of them--probably 8 or 9.  Who knew styrofoam could look so cool?

I am always amazed at the creative ideas people come up with! I'd love to see what you made. If you are able, you can post it in the gallery area of the forum.

Unfortunately I can only post things I can scan, but pictures and directions for the project can be found at craft.dow.com. Specifically http://craft.dow.com/craft/proj/1998.htm shows what I did--except that I used precut blocks that were 10" x 12" instead of cutting my own 12" x 12" blocks and I used holiday themed paper.
