"Map of My Life in the Sixties"
Elly Vitulio
"I scanned in a piece of wallpaper and two pieces of my childhood art work my mom (now 83 yrs old) recently gave me. I happened to also have a couple of pictures from that time (1964-1966) with my mom and me, my dad and me and me alone near the old coal heater in our apartment in Breda, the Netherlands. I used to have to use the poker every cold winter morning to get the ashes in the heater down in the drawer and to start the heater working again. I scanned those pictures in as well and added them to the scanned art.
I am an only child, an answer to my parents' prayers, after 10 years of marriage, so me in the center is how life was. My parents simply adored me. I plan on making this map even more elaborate with stuff I have from that era but don't have on hand right now (so the map is not done yet) and I also plan on making one for the seventies, eighties etc.
This was such a wonderful trip along memory lane! Thank you!"
