    November Creativity Challenge

Ooops, I'm late posting the challenge for the month of November, sorry everyone!  This one will be easy, I know we're all getting a little bogged down with "stuff" and the upcoming holiday season!  I took Marney's Five Minute Masterpieces and it inspired me and I found it very helpful.  Soooo.... what I'd like everyone to do is to do a quick collage or craft and spend 5 minutes on it. No, really, just set a timer and work for 5 minutes.  Here are a few themes to get you started:

    1)  Make something using a monochromatic color scheme

    2)  Do something inspired by a quote (you can pick your favourite one, or email me and I'll send one to you, I've got loads of them!)

    3)  Try making your work upside down!

    4)  Do a craft that you loved to do as a child, when your inner critic comes out, imagine how it would feel if an adult spoke to you like that when you were a young, budding artist and squash those negative messages!!!

    5)  Make a collage using images from only one magazine, use three elements, the background, one sentence and one main image.

That's it everyone! Let's see your Five Minute Masterpieces!!!!

My general formula for my students is "Follow your bliss." Find where it is, and don't be afraid to follow it.

Five.??...five as in one, two, three, four, five.............minutes!? I like challenges so I will attempt to make the impossible possible.  I am t-u-r-t-l-e slow so this will test me, definitely.

WISH I HAD A DIGITAL CAMERA AND ALL THAT KIND OF FANCY STUFF SO I COULD SHARE PHOTOS, BUT I DID DO IT AND CAME UP WITH A COLLAGE ON A CARDBOARD CIRCLE THAT WAS IN BETWEEN TWO SKILLETS I RECENTLY PURCHASED. THE COLOR SCHEME IS PURPLE AND LIGHT BLUE, USING HANDMADE PAPERS WITH SOME GLITTER AND SPARKLY STARS ON IT. i ALSO DANGLED SOME SILVERY BEADS AND A STAR FROM THE END OF IT AND PUT A LOOP AT THE TOP. COULD HANG IN A WINDOW, ON THE HOLIDAY TREE, IN A DOORWAY, ETC. I DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY, I TRY TO COME UP WITH NEW USESAND THAT CARDBOARD CIRCLE LAID ON MY DESK FOR A FEW DAYS TILL I SAW THIS CHALLENGE. HAVE FUN! SAQQARRA

Oh that sounds beautiful, Saqqarra.  Your description did a good job of giving me a visual image of it.  Isn't it amazing sometimes what we as artists can drum up and create with only a few items?  I bet it would look nice in a window where the sun can shine on the glitter and stars!  I have a half-dozen different artsy things made from colored glass to mirrors hanging in my art studio window.  A few weeks ago, there was an annual Christmas Craft Festival in our city and I found the perfect mobile for in the window - an artist's palette made from glass!  What a find that was.  When the sun shines on them, they even make art on the walls from their reflection (and drives the cat nuts).  Thanks for sharing, Saqqarra.

Saqqarra -- do you have a printer that has a scanner?  I'd really love to see your five-minute art (even though your word picture was very vivid!)
