Bill, please just take care of yourself. It's obvious that we understand! There is some bug going around and you got bit bad. I was sick today (no details) and this is the first time I've been online since early this morning.I know that we've had wild weather too, like snow on ice and ice on snow, and black ice.

So take care of you! Uh...are you in Florida by any chance? (just teasing!) Stick out tongue

First Zine Swap - Samples posted

I have a few samples of the zines posted.  I still have zines from 6 more people to scan, though, so more will be coming!  I hope to mail them back out Weds.

Re: Artella Zinesters Tell White Lies!

Chameleon, I agree with you: I think I also missed out on something very special! I have the good intentions of joining the next swap (and no, I've never done a zine, either!) but I have commitment-phobia with large projects lately! Embarrassed I can't wait to see the samples; perhaps then I'll be more inclined to join in.

I just have to express how great it is to be part of a community that lets you choose whatever medium you enjoy working with, and not just one particular company's products as that can be limiting to the creative muses.

    Zine Swap - Last Update

Well, dear friends, our zine swap is about to come to an end.  I have them all sealed in envelopes, and will be able to take them to the post office tomorrow.  We ended up with 9 different zines, and you will be receiving 5 back in the mail.  It is so amazing to see how our talents take us in so many different directions.  Each "direction" is unique and wonderful!  You will be thrilled with each zine you receive.  It was such a privilege to be able to host Artellaland's first zine swap.  I apologize for taking longer than I planned to get them sent back out.  My goal is to be much healthier in 2008, but I haven't quite figured out how to achieve that yet!  Maybe I need to move to Hawaii and live next door to Marney and Tony!  Paradise

Re: Artella Cafe's First Zine Swap

I can't believe how long it took for the zines to get to you.  I wondered why no one was saying if they liked the zines or not.  I decided to buy protective envelopes instead of paying for priority mail, but I never dreamed they would take a week and a half to arrive!  Oh well.  I'm so happy you like the zines.  I was very impressed with everyone's work.  Your Medley Zine was full of wonderful art and stuff!  I'm so glad we did this swap, too.

Re: Artella Cafe's First Zine Swap

My received zines were just amazing! I had started a "Zine Swap Thank You" thread here days ago http://artellacafe.com/forums/t/2503.aspx because I thought this thread was already too long to have a discussion after we received them. That's my strange way of thinking. There was only one response to my post, so I figured everyone who participated in the swap was busy. Well, I didn't know what to think.

Bill, again, thank you so much for hosting this swap. It was a great experience for us all.

    Have a super day.

Re: Zine Swap - Last Update

    Hi Bill and all,

I've been locked out of my account and I couldn't find my password...yes, I'm a bonehead...

I've also been out of town visiting my daughter.

But I wanted to let you know that I received my Zines and OH - they are WONDERFUL!  My whole family enjoyed them and we sat on the couch reading and commenting on all of them.

Thank you, Bill, for hosting this swap.  And thank you everyone for all your hard work!  This was the first Zine I ever made and I had so much fun doing it - having no idea whether I was doing it "right" or not. =)  I LOVED getting them back from everyone and reading through them - they are all so different and what I learned was there IS no right or wrong way to do one.

Beautiful work, everyone!  Would anyone mind if I posted pictures of them on my blog?

I can't wait to do another one!

    Blessings~ Donna

Re: Zine Swap - Last Update

I too would love to post an image of the zines received on my blog.

Is everyone okay with this? They are great!

Bill, you should submit an article on our efforts to Somerset Studios. I think they just might be interested.

    Thanks everyone again!
