Envelope Journal

This is the front cover for a journal I've made.  I'm going to be using the journal for Lani Gerity's "The Artist's Healing Journey" workshop.  I made it out of used 8.5 x 11 brown envelopes.  Took me a few weeks to collect enough envelopes to make three signatures.  Then I used a slightly larger envelope for the front cover. Sewed it together, decorated it and "voila"! I like how soft it is, and how well the envelopes take paint and glue and still hold up.

Hi Eveline! This is a beautiful journal! I hope you enjoy your 'Journey'. Lani's courses are wonderful and full of possibilities. I took her Artist's Happiness Challenge earlier this year and it made a huge difference in my life: Made me aware of not only feeling happiness and deciding what it was for me, but also whether or not I am spreading it and accepting responsibility. Also, it helped me to identify phony people and continue to trust my instincts (Huge Bonus!). I am sure that you will be equally touched by her Healing program. Hugs ~Mary

I love your cover.  I was looking at Lani's class, because I could sure use some healing right about now, but it sounded like it was just for women.  I can't handle going through any sex changes right now while my personal computer is still not working.

Billi - you should email Lani - I don't believe it's a women only class.  It follows the "heroe's journey" which in looking over the materials sounds to me like you are free to create a heroe or heroine and base your journey on that.  It looks pretty flexible to me.

Eveline, this is so wonderful, I wish I could hold it and fondle it.  Home-made journals are my very favorite thing and I also relish "re-using" other items (the brown envelopes); how perfect that you are using it for this class.  Thank you for explaining the detail of how you put it together; I think I'd love to try that.  Ah, you've put an idea in my head ... why yes! I think I might be able to do it!

Hi Eveline!

With all of the wonderful color, I would never have guessed that your use brown envelopes.  I love the visual image of your heart in your hands.  I hope you have an insightful, enriching, and playful journey.

Hugs,   Julie
