I did it!

I did it, yes, I finally did it.  I called the university and asked how to apply to come back to school.  Eeeeeeek!!!  They were very helpful and I applied on line.  Now, I just wait to hear back from them.  I'm hoping to take one course in the fall.  I think I need to ease myself back into school.  I've been out of university for 17 years, OMGosh! 17 years is a long, long time.  I'm so nervous, I don't know why.  I know it will take me a while to get everything in order before I can graduate, but I may as well give it a shot.  I'd like to do something different with my life and I've got some good ideas percolating. Wish me luck as I wait patiently to hear back from the Admissions office!

Good for you Holly! Small moves add up to big changes.

Take it from a current "non-traditional" student, the learning process is so much more fun when you've been away from it and come back. I get a charge each time I start a new class!

Best of luck in your new venture.

Holly, good luck to you on taking this next step! I was a non-traditional student as well (at 41 when I went back) and I was surprised to see so many more adults walking the halls. You will be fine! I started out by taking one class my first semester back to get acclimated to the campus, so you have a good handle on it already, in my opinion. You will love, love, love returning to school! It will be so much fun! -Mary

That's great news, Holly! I was a non-traditional student at age 36 and very nervous going to Univ. of Missouri, at the time. I was so unsure of what to expect, how I would be accepted, etc. It was a fantastic experience! The students were all so encouraging and so nice! They were more than helpful inviting me to study with them, answering questions. I majored in microbiology and was intimidated by the calibre of students I had in my classes and labs. No need to worry. They were great!

I was so glad I did it! That was over 10 years ago, and I'm sure there are more nontraditional students than ever walking the halls now. Good luck to you!

Hi Holly!

Congratulations! I think it's wonderful that you are following your dreams. I'll say good luck, but I doubt that you will need any. I'm also sure that you'll fit right in. Keep us posted on your new adventure. I'll look forward to hearing all of the fun details.

I would love to put a real cool smiley face here to celebrate this new journey, but they don't work in blog comments.

Hugs,  Julie
